For this project we would take some photo paper and place either physical objects or transparencies on top of them and their outlines and some details would show up.
For this photogram I placed some plastic dollar bills on top of the photo paper. Since they are plastic, thin, and had some transparent bits, you could see the many details on both sides of the bills. This was probably my favourite because they ended up looking really cool, especially since, for whatever reason, some bits would come out blurry sometimes.
For this self-portrait, I printed out a photo of myself onto a transparency and placed it on top of the photo paper. I tried really hard to get the full spectrum of light to dark shades, but for some reason, I couldn't get many white areas.
This was an Imitation of a Photogram by Melanie K. First I created the image on Photoshop using different brushes and then I printed it out onto a transparency and used it to create the image. Like my self-portrait, I couldn't get this photogram to show any white areas. I think I should've made the image darker on photoshop so that less light could've passed through.

ReplyDeleteI really like your imitation photogram. You really captured the spheric shape of the moon which makes it seem like it is almost popping out of the paper. I also like how many shades of grey and black you included in your picture, it makes it look really mysterious. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos but my favorite is your circle, earthy image. It is so deep, so misunderstood, so simple. The blacks and whites compliment each other in such a perfect way. The audience can clearly see you are an incredibly talented person. Great, great work.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a creative person! To make the recreation of that space picture was really cool! I can't believe that you were able to do that with a paint brush on photoshop!
ReplyDeleteI also thought the idea of the dollar bill was a really great idea. Its weird seeing it negative!
And yourself portrait was pretty, the way it came out was very artsy! (with the cracks and all) :)
OVER ALL I THOUGHT YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB <3
Iskra, your imitation photogram is stunning, and it's mind blowing to think that you created the image of the moon. I give you absolute props for recreating that image using just a paintbrush on photoshop.
ReplyDeleteYour self portrait is gorgeous! Your eyes really stand out, especially because of the contrast between the black and whites in the image.
Lastly, your photogram of dollar bills is extremely interesting, and it's cool that you can see all the letters and numbers from both sides of a bill (how they overlap on the photogram is quite fascinating).
Amazing job!
Iskra your photograms turned out great! They are so artsy just like you and by seeing these photograms, it lets us know that you truly are a talented person. I would have never guessed that you designed your last photogram if I wasn't sitting next to you while you were working on it. The contrast between the lights and the darks really make the image pop. Great job!
ReplyDeleteIskra, your photos are stunning!
ReplyDeleteI really love what you did with the dollar bills - I thought it was so interesting how you used their opacity to create that effect. And it turned out really well! You used practically the whole grayscale and there's a lot going on with the contrasts and patterns and shapes and I just really like it.
Also with your moon imitation photo, it's unbelievable that you drew that yourself. You did really well with the details and how realistic it looks. Really great job!
